A little about myself
Hello My name is Dr Bridgid Hess and this website is about the things that I love doing.
It has been a strange time for us all since this virus came to live in the world with us.
So much has forced us to shift and change and adapt our styles of life. We could never have predicted it. On reflection, most of my big shifts in life could not have been predicted or rationalised... they happened because I was forced out of a womb and catapulted into a new strange world that I thought I had no map for.
In the past depression has done this for me; changes in Zimbabwe did it for me; moving to Scotland did it for me; a son and family calling us to Oxfordshire did it for me.; Grandchildren did it for me, illness has done it for me.... None of these happenings could have been planned or predicted but I am grateful that they came to shake me out of the old and squeeze me into the new. It was the midwives of life that eased me safely into new realities.
It is these life experiences more than my degrees that has honed my skills as a psychotherapist, along with those who have modeled different ways of being and knowing.
I have been learning a lot about trusting my intuition and my heart and learning how deeply I am connected to the Earth and the skies and the planets that influence me in mysterious ways.
I have immersed myself in a community garden and have learnt the reward of reciprocity. It has been bountiful in its production and what joy to share produce with those who pass by. It is a metaphor for bringing down fences of fear, as well as old systems of privatisation!
I have moved my yoga classes on line now and this is working well. It is wonderful connecting with a world community of people I have met in my itinerant life. I run a class on a Monday and Wednesday morning. Email me on firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to join in.
