A little about myself

Hello My name is Dr Bridgid Hess and this website is about the things that I love doing.
  • Narrative therapy. I love walking with people to challenge problems. I charge £45.00 per session and usually work anywhere in the world on Skype or zoom. I share notes and work collaboratively honouring you as the expert of your life
  • I do trainings in Narrative Therapy
  • I am a faculty member of Webster University (Geneva campus) and teach a programme on the 'Counselling Relationship'
  • I am a qualified Kundalini Yoga Teacher and love to teach yoga.  It is a way of integrating my breath with my body and nervous system. I have two zoom classes per week at 7am UK time. Classes are free or suggested donation of £20 per month
  • I love foraging and making recipes work that are fun and healthy and seasonal
  • my newest interest is making healing creams and soaps

Recent News

  November 2020.

This year will be a year in history that has shaken most of us in so many assumptions that we have made about how life should be. I am no exception to that.

The kundalini yoga community has been shaken to its core in the way its powerful leaders have deluded us. Politics has flawed me and shaken me to my core. I fear for our futures and the future of planet Earth and our grandchildren.

We are so easily swept away by sectarian divisions and greed. What is happening in America, regardless of who wins, has set in motion a dangerously divided nation.

On a personal level I have experienced challenges that have been difficult to face.

One thing I am clear about, is that relationship and trust are fundamental for us to live well on this planet, because I am you and you are me. I am also clear that politics is the war of fear.

It is hard to trust others when we hold such different views.
This last week I have been thinking about the great divide on pro-life and pro-choice. I am pro-life. I am pro life for all and pro banning guns  as they do not promote pro-life, they take life. I am pro life for refugees who are fleeing their countries out of terror. I am pro life for mothers who feel they have to abort a baby because of deformation or risk to the mothers life. I am pro life for mothers to have a baby adopted if this is something they are able to do.

What I will not accept is the aggression of creating camps of those who 'believe' and those who 'are out', those who are right and those who are wrong.

I stand by my Quaker testaments of PEACE, LOVE, SIMPLICITY, EQUALITY, ENVIRONMENT - these are principles of life that honour all who share this Earth.
I am feeling sad at the divisions, but know that at some level everyone wants to belong and be loved and accepted.

I continue to teach yoga and feel free to trust my soul and intention and how movement leads us upwards to a place beyond division. It is wonderful connecting with a world community of people I have met in my itinerant life.  I run a class on a Monday and Wednesday morning. Email me on bridgid.hess@gmail.com if you would like to join in.
