I began work as a social worker during the 1970s having obtained an honours degree in Social Sciences from Trinity College Dublin, followed by a Certificate of Qualification in Social Work from the University of Southampton. Some years later I trained in Systemic Family Therapy, receiving a Certificate in Family Therapy from Connect in Zimbabwe. My interest in working collaboratively in this area led me to complete my Masters in Pastoral Theology with a focus on Narrative Therapy with UNISA (University of South Africa), for which I received a Cum Laude; following which I worked with UNISA on training other Masters students in Narrative and Pastoral therapy. I subsequently was awarded my Doctorate in Practical Theology with a focus on pastoral therapy. Latterly, after returning to the UK from Africa, I worked with Webster University (Geneva campus), teaching and supervising students on their graduate programmed in counselling psychology. I obtained a diploma in Trauma Therapy from NAOS in London and am currently completing my training in Supervision of Therapists with the MINDED Institute in London. I am registered as a counselling therapist with the National Institute of Integrative Therapy. |
